Making liqueurs yourself is absolutely the trend today. No wonder, because it is also child's play. How about e.g. with a delicious kiwi liqueur? The basic recipe for this is here.

Kiwi liqueur is prepared in no time at all

Most people rarely buy liqueurs these days. The trend is finally towards DIY. No wonder, because the orchard invites you to do so. But the herb garden also has a lot to offer. Who e.g. He has planted sage, oregano, mint, thyme, basil and chamomile in the garden. He can make a herbal liqueur himself, which is also suitable as a digestive schnapps. The great thing about the whole thing: homemade liqueurs are a great gift.

The problem with the whole thing: Most of them can often not decide which fruits to use to make a delicious liqueur. How about a kiwi liqueur? It can be manufactured quickly and easily and can be refined according to your own taste. Just try it.

Basic ingredients for the kiwi liqueur:

  • 8 ripe kiwi fruits
  • 200 g white candy
  • 700 ml of grain or vodka
  • 1 vanilla bean

You can also add:

  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 tsp orange or lemon peel
  • Herbs
  • chili
  • 1 drop of green food coloring

Preparation of the kiwi liqueur:

1 Peel and slice the kiwi fruit. Then fill together with the white rock candy and the vanilla pod into a container with a large opening. If you like, you can also add herbs, some orange peel or other spices. Just experiment a little. Then fill everything with grain or vodka.

2 Now close the container and let it rest in a dark, cool place for about 8 weeks. However, within the first two days, it is important that you stir the mixture once or twice so that the sugar dissolves more quickly. Then let the liqueur rest.

3When the 8 weeks are up, pour the kiwi liqueur through a sieve to filter out all solid components. Then strain again through a fine cloth or coffee filter. So later there are no more pieces in the liqueur. It is therefore very clear.

4If you like, you can now add a drop of green food coloring to give the liqueur a stronger green color. Otherwise, you can now pour it into one large or several small bottles and enjoy it.
