A dirty row, or weedy one, belongs to the family of Ryadkov, the genus of Ordinary, which includes about 100 species. More than 40 of its representatives grow on the territory of Russia, among them there are edible and poisonous ones.

Their name is associated with the peculiarity of growing large colonies in the form of rows or circles, which are often called "witch".

A dirty ryadovka is an understudied mushroom, so it is worth learning more about its appearance, places of growth, taste, benefits and harms from use.

Where does the weedy mushroom grow

This variety belongs to ground mushrooms, distributed in the Northern Hemisphere, in the temperate zone. Row often forms mycorrhiza with coniferous trees - fir, spruce, pine, larch, but sometimes it can grow in symbiosis with deciduous trees - birch, oak, beech. Prefers sandy or calcareous soils, can grow in open spaces, in parks, squares, vegetable gardens, meadows. Fruiting begins in July and ends with frost. Dirty rows appear as single specimens or bunches, more often in large groups in the form of circles, the diameter of which can reach 60 m and more.

What a weed row looks like

The dirty ryadovka has several names - weed, titmouse, dirty lipist or weed.

Growing in colonies, representatives of this species can grow together with fruiting bodies in the area of the base of the legs. The hats are first in the shape of a ball, later they become flatter, outstretched, with a tubercle in the central part. In diameter, they reach 3 - 7 cm. The color depends on the place of growth and changes from red to brown with barely noticeable stripes. The edge of the head of a dirty row can be wavy, tucked up. The pulp is thin, very moist, has a gray-purple color, pleasant aroma and taste.

The hymenophore of the cap consists of often spaced plates that have grown together with the surface of the fruiting body. Their color is dirty purple. The spore powder has a pink tint.

The leg of a dirty row is 5 cm long, about 0.8 cm thick. Its color matches the shades of the cap, the texture is fibrous, the shape is cylindrical, expanding near the base. The leg, dense at a young age, later becomes hollow inside.

Is it possible to eat a row weed

According to the classification, the dirty ryadovka belongs to the fourth category - conditionally edible mushrooms. Representatives of this group are considered to be of little value in terms of taste, culinary and nutritional value.

Since the ryadovka is dirty - a poorly studied mushroom and is classified as conditionally edible in many sources, it is recommended to boil it before use in order not to get disturbances in the digestive tract. Do not use the broth after cooking.

Mushroom taste

Many are afraid to collect dirty rows and use them for food. This is due to their color. The bluish tint makes this look look like toadstools. Even the slightest doubt about the quality should end with the rejection of the mushroom.

Important! The smell can tell a lot about the quality and edibility of dirty rows. It should be fragrant and pleasant. Dusty and mealy - indicates that the specimen is poisonous.
